Since opening in April 2000, the Mulberry Tree has gone from strength to strength. We have been recommended in various good food guides but we are discreet about our success which we trace back to our absolute love of good food. Put it simply our passion is your pleasure.

All our food is freshly prepared with the best produce available. We only use the finest ingredients from THE best local suppliers.

We believe that fresh, healthy food should also taste delicious and our love of food means we are constantly searching out new ideas, developing recipes and sourcing the finest produce.

As we only use the best produce of the season our menus change frequently to reflect the availability of fresh ingredients at their best. Quite literally everything is fresh and not just because that’s fashionable phrase but because fresh = best flavour.

Mark Prescott is our Executive Head Chef and has been ranked as one of Great Britain’s top ten contemporary chefs alongside Gordon Ramsey and Rick Stein, by the ‘Hotel & Caterer’ Magazine.

In April 2010, our culinary team was further strengthened with the addition of Mathew Harris as Head Chef. Mathew was previously Head Chef at our sister business, the Bold Hotel in Southport whereby he was appointed in 2005. Previously he started his career at The Savoy Hotel in London before moving up to the North West. Mathew has also worked with Gordon Ramsey at his 3 Michelin Star Restaurant, in Chelsea, London and worked alongside Southport born Marcus Wareing at Restaurant L’Oranger and Petrus.
